Color / Allure
In the series, Color / Allure, colors are used to demand attention. Colorful positive space is framed by florescent negative space. I was inspired by reveries, wondering in thought, alone, but content. Deep in thought, subjects in the painting are in observance of their emotion. Colors were used like confetti, they abruptly allures the audience. I invite you to look beyond them, dim the light, and immerse yourself in the mystery. Colors inspire creativity but they also inspire conformity; the sky is not always blue, roses are not always red. Since the everyday can weary us, I wanted to convey out of familiarity, like changing the color of the light bulb in the room to shift the ambience. Familiar but uncommon.
